Muhammadiyah University Jakarta (UMJ) through the Center for Public Policy Studies (PKKP) signed a memorandum of understanding and collaboration agreement with Kertajati BIJB Airport (PT. West Java International Airport) in Kertajati, Majalengka, Friday (13/10/23).
There are two cooperation agreements signed with PT. BIJB and PT PPRO BJB Aerocity. The cooperation agreement covers the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education, reviewing strategic policy issues, increasing public participation in government and industry.
The signing was carried out directly by the Chancellor of UMJ Prof. Dr. Ma’mun Murod, M.Si., accompanied by the Chair of the PKKP Dr. Rahmat Salam, M.Sc., with the Main Director of PT. BJIB Muhammad Singgih and the Director of PT PPRO BJB Aerocity Yunas Rudianto.
UMJ Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ma’mun Murod, M.Si., welcomed this collaboration. Ma’mun hopes that this collaboration can be implemented. According to him, UMJ has complete Human Resources (HR) so that it can support cooperation in various scopes.

This collaboration also resulted in plans to create an international standard hospital and Muhammadiyah College in Kertajati Aerocity. This was stated by the Chairman of PKKP Dr. Rahmat Salam, M.Sc.
“Of course, the plan is carried out in stages with other collaborations that we will bridge to enliven the operations of Kertajati BIJB Airport,” said Rahmat when interviewed at the location.
BIJB Main Director Muhamamd Singgih explained that the MoU with UMJ was a strategic step. According to him, Muhammadiyah is the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia. Singgih hopes that Muhammadiyah will play a role in helping the growth of BIJB and Aerocity City.
“With this MoU we can start good cooperation, of course mutually beneficial between Muhammadiyah and the airport. “We hope that Muhammadiyah will take the opportunity to develop Kertajati BIJB Airport and Aerocity,” explained Singgih.
In another session, Aerocity Director Yunas Rudianto supported plans to build a hospital and Muhammadiyah International College in Aerocity City. He considered that this was an opportunity to help the benefit of the people. West Java Kertajati International Airport (BIJB) will have an independent city nearby, namely Kertajati Aerocity. In this cluster, residential, office, hotel, mall and commercial areas will be developed which are equipped with various supporting facilities.
Also present at this signing event were the Head of the Public Administration Science Study Program, Nida Handayani, SIP, M.Sc., the Secretary of the Study Program Dini Gandiniurbaningrum, SIP., MA., and the Head of the Master of Administration Science Study Program as well as the PKKP development team, Dr. Izzatusolikhah, M.Sc., and also present: Dr, R. Muhammad PKKP Partnership Team, Widodo Hari Lusinto Phd, PKKP Research Team.
